More details on the "Tech Class" page
This class is for anyone interested in becoming a newly licensed Amateur Radio Operator (ie, a "ham").
Class will include live radio conversations and recorded contacts with space station astronauts, relays through satellites and repeaters, international contacts bounced off the ionosphere, and much more.
Subjects covered by the license exam include federal regulations, what you can and can't do over the radio, and just enough basic electronics to help you select and connect your own ham radio station.
The primary instructor, George Lillenstein, AB1GL, will be introducing all-new demonstrations and teaching techniques for "electrifying" classes you won't want to miss!
The NARL club will also be offering the more advanced "General" and "Extra" license classes later this year.
The general public is welcome at the monthly NARL meeting
held the first Monday of each month (except January and holidays)
at the Newington Senior Center
It's free - we'll answer questions
about ham classes, licensing, operating, equipment
and anything related to Amateur Radio
No membership or license required
