Annual Newington Memorial Day Parade
Saturday May 23 2015

From the NARL event coordinator, Stephanie Bustos, KD6CCB:

"We [the amateur radio operators] are meeting at 8:30 am
at fire headquarters,  1485 Main St., Newington
so if any others show up that have not contacted me ... that is where to be. We'll be walking with the groups, but there are a couple of aid stations that need to be manned also. "

From the official Newington town website:

The annual Memorial Day Parade will step off at 10:30 sharp on Saturday, May 23. The starting point will be just North of East Robbins Ave on Main St. and proceed north on Main St. turning west on Garfield St. and dispersing in Mill Pond Park. There will be seven marching bands, numerous youth groups, The Sphinx motorized units, Military, Fire, and Police units and Local, State, and Federal Officials. A traditional moment of silence will be observed at approximately 11:05 AM at the sounding of the fire siren. At 12:00 PM the Ceremony of the Roses will be held in the front lobby of Town Hall for the thirty town members we lost during the nation's wars and conflicts. The public is invited to attend.
